Amanda and Jared's Story <3
Amanda and her husband, Jared, met in 2011 through a mutual friend, Katie. (Katie went on to be Amanda's maid of honor, how sweet!). Both Amanda and Katie were looking for a third roommate while attending FGCU. Katie saw on Facebook that an old family friend was also looking for a roommate at FGCU! That person was Jared. They met for dinner and Jared moved in a few weeks later. Jared and Amanda were roommates for over a year when he sat her down one day and confessed his feelings for her. Amanda says "Having placed him in the friend zone, not wanting to complicate our living situation, it surprised me! However, once I allowed myself to have feelings for him I fell head over heels in love with him! I think our love for each other is stronger now because we were friends first. He is my best friend."
Amanda wore a beautiful Paloma Blanca gown that was accented with handmade Haute Bride bridal accessories. She gushed over the sash, saying she has said "yes" to the sash before the gown! She tried on the sash with every gown! She explained "I LOVED my gown! My Paloma Blanca fit and flare gown ended up being everything I've ever dreamed of, however, it was not a dress I originally picked for myself. After trying on only about 10 dresses, the associate at The White Magnolia Tampa brought out this dress and I didn't love it until I tried it on. At the end of my appointment when they asked if this was my dress I decided to just go with my gut, and I'm glad I did!"
Real Bride Advice: Don't be afraid to try on dresses that may be a little out of your comfort zone, it may actually surprise you and be the one!
Amanda and Jared chose to get married in South Carolina for a lot of reasons! They love it, they got engaged there and further, they wanted a more intimate affair. They chose the Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards because Amanda's parents own a home there. Amanda explained that from the mountains, the lake, the vineyards... her venue had everything! She incorporated all of those aspects into her wedding! She did have one really amazing wedding day surprise, thanks to her Mom and Dad!! Amanda excitedly explained that "The wedding day was beyond anything I could have ever imagined! There were definitely a few surprises though. The biggest surprise came during our first dance. We chose the song "Yours", by Russell Dickerson as our song to dance to, instead of a recording, Russell Dickerson himself came out and serenaded us with "Yours"! It was a complete surprise! My Mom and Dad had hired him and his band to not only play our first dance but a whole set; they drove all night from Oklahoma to get there in time! And afterwards he and his wife stayed and enjoyed the reception with us. It was incredible! I owe it all to my amazing parents, specifically my Mom who was in charge of hiring the band and dealt with many months worth of bridezilla fueled inquiries regarding the matter of "the band" and still somehow managed to pull of the big surprise!"
What an amazing memory, right?! We are so thankful to have Amanda and Jared as members of our White Magnolia Family. Thank you so much for sharing your bridal journey, Amanda! You make such a stunning bride!
