(and the ones I am loving instead!)

We're well into the new year, and every bridal trend that has ever surfaced on social media (and beyond) has found its way back onto your feed. Curated lists of what’s coming, what’s going, the “ins and outs”—it's overwhelming. Or at least, I can imagine it would be if I were a bride navigating this day and age.

So, as a bridal stylist of eight years, let me offer some friend-to-friend advice: a one-stop guide to the trends that matter, the pieces that will elevate your wedding day look, and everything you need to know if this is your year to find the dress of your dreams.

And if it is—congratulations, bestie! We are so excited for you! Now, let’s talk about the trends.

Couture Elements: Asymmetric Hemlines, Bubble Hems & Structural Pleats

One of the trends I’m loving this year is couture-inspired detail. Asymmetric hemlines, bubble hems, and structural pleats create movement, depth, and subtle drama that feel editorial without being overwhelming. These are the kinds of gowns that make a statement in photos while still feeling effortless on the day itself.

Structural Separates: Capes, Jackets & Toppers

Transformative pieces continue to shine. Capes, jackets, and toppers allow a gown to feel like multiple looks in one. A delicate lace cape for the ceremony can be removed for a sleek, dancing-ready reception style. Jackets and toppers add dimension and couture sophistication. giving brides the ability to customize their silhouette while keeping everything cohesive.

Silk & Satin: The Return of Liquid Luxuries

Soft, flowing fabrics are back in a big way. Silk and satin gowns have a tactile richness that feels luxurious and indulgent. These “liquid luxury” fabrics catch the light beautifully, drape naturally, over the body, and give brides that soft, romantic glow in photos. Movement, shine, and elegance—these fabrics have it all.

Modern Minimalism: Clean Lines & Sleek Silhouettes

Minimalism continues to reign in bridal fashion, but this season, it’s modern and elevated. Clean lines, sleek silhouettes, and refined tailoring emphasize the bride rather than the dress, allowing subtle details—like a bow, cape, or lace panel—to shine. Minimal doesn’t mean boring; it’s about intentional design that frames the body and highlights the wearer.

Feminine Details: Bows, Drama, & Couture Flair

Romance is in, but done with precision and intent. Bows, soft flares, and gentle drama add personality without overwhelming the gown. From a bow accent at the waist to a delicately flared sleeve, these couture touches allow each bride to express herself while keeping the overall look polished and elevated.

Dropped Waistlines: Flattering Proportions & Framing

Dropped waistlines are subtle yet impactful. They elongate the body and create intentional framing, making proportions feel balanced and flattering. Paired with modern silhouettes and minimal embellishment, these designs add sophistication while remaining wearable and chic.

Romantic Lace: Reimagined Elegance

Lace is timeless, but this year it’s modern and inventive. Intricate embroidery, lace panels in unexpected places, and sheer overlays bring softness and storytelling to a gown without overwhelming it. Romantic lace is now a tool for personal expression—timeless, elegant, and reimagined for today’s bride.

Stylist Insight | Making Trends Your Own

The beauty of these trends is how adaptable they are. Brides can take inspiration from

asymmetric hems, flowing silk, or structural separates and make them uniquely their own. The most memorable gowns are the ones that reflect who you are, not just what’s trending online. After nearly eight years of styling brides, I’ve learned that the best bridal looks happen when a gown is chosen with intention, confidence, and authenticity. Whether it’s couture details, sleek minimalism, or romantic lace, your dress should tell your story—effortlessly, elegantly, and unapologetically you.

No matter what trends speak to you this year, we are so excited to be part of your journey. We’re here to guide, celebrate, and make the process effortless and joyful. Every bride is unique, and our goal is to help you discover the gown that feels unmistakably you!

Here’s to a year of love, style, and saying “yes” to your dream dress!
